VAN GOGH's Story

This very handsome guy is VAN GOGH, a 3-4 year old male that was brought to HOPE as a stray and never claimed. He came in with 6 others and we believe at least 6 out of the 7 of them are from the same family. As you can see, VAN GOGH only has one ear (hence his name). We suspect he was born that way since it doesn’t seem to be scarred as if from an injury. VAN GOGH came in pretty quiet and timid but only after just over a week, he has found his voice and is rather demanding, in a cute way. He talks to you when you walk in the room and loves attention! Unfortunately, he is FIV+ so he will need to be the only cat in the home or go to a home with other FIV+ kitties.

*Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV) is a slow-acting virus that weakens a cat’s immune system, making them more susceptible to infections. It is transmitted primarily through deep bite wounds during fights and cannot be passed to humans. While not curable, many FIV+ cats live long, normal lives with proper indoor care, low stress, and good nutrition*
