Utensil-Foster's Story

Utensil is a lovely 3-year-old black cat who is still learning to feel fully comfortable in new situations. She can be a bit shy with new people at first, often choosing the safety of her bed while she takes her time to observe her surroundings.

With patience and a calm approach, Utensil begins to open up. After a few quiet minutes together, she allowed slow, gentle head pets and quickly showed her appreciation. Once the pets continued down her back, she happily responded by lifting her hind end up in classic contented cat fashion, clearly enjoying the attention.

As she became more comfortable, Utensil even started to come forward in her kennel, seeking out more pets and engagement. While she didn't show interest in treats during her time, she was curious about catnip, which may be a great enrichment tool for her in a home setting.

Utensil has no known history of living with other animals or children, so a calm, patient home will help her continue to build confidence. With time and trust, she has the potential to become a very affectionate companion.
