Uno's Story

Hola, I’m Uno! ?

I came into rescue with my brothers, Dos and Tres, after spending the first months of my life outside. We were born around April 2023 and later spent a long time living together in a very small space. That experience made me a little shy, but I’ve worked hard and made huge strides learning to trust people.

Every morning, I look forward to my special routine: a few Temptations treats and some gentle pets. That’s how I start my day off right! I love back scratches and will sometimes flop over dramatically to show you how much I enjoy them.

I’m still a reserved girl who needs patience, and a quiet home, but I promise the wait will be worth it. Once I begin to trust, I’ll show you my silly side, my playful pounces, and the way I like to follow my favorite human around just to be near them. I’ll share sweet quiet moments with you—watching birds from a sunny window, curling up in a cozy spot nearby, or softly purring when you pet me.

One thing I absolutely need is a feline friend. I’m what my foster mom calls a “cat’s cat”—I find comfort in the company of other kitties. I would love to be adopted with one of my brothers or foster friends, or join a home that already has a friendly cat who can help me continue to blossom.

I may be shy, but my heart is so ready to love. With patience and kindness, I’ll be your loyal companion for life.

Uno is currently in a foster home. If you are interested in meeting her, please send a message here, or email adopt@ahsem.org
.

Adoption fees are as follows: $175 for a single cat or kitten, $225 for a pair of cats or kittens. When adopting a cat from AHSEM, the adoption includes spay or neuter surgery, age-appropriate core vaccines, microchipping, combo testing (for FIV/FeLV), and basic wellness care including deworming and flea treatment.

Animal House of South East Michigan, Inc.'s Adoption Policy
When adopting a cat from AHSEM the adoption includes spay or neuter surgery, age appropriate core vaccines, microchipping, combo tested (for FIV/FeLV), and basic wellness care including deworming and flea treatment. Our adoption fees are as follows: $155 for a single cat or kitten $195 for a pair of cats or kittens Please note that we do not do same day adoptions and all adoption fees are non-refundable. AHSEM treats every adoption as "foster to adopt" This means that the first two weeks in which you have the cat is the "foster period." We do our best to ensure the right match for all involved and want to give the cat(s) time to decompress and adapt to their new environment. However, we realize sometimes things don't work out as expected. Therefore, during that two-week period, if something doesn’t work out you can bring the cat back. We are also flexible if more time is needed to determine if its the right fit. We will always take our cats back even after the "foster to adopt" period. We would hate to see them end up at a kill shelter, abandoned, or any other unsafe situation.
