Uncle John's Story

Well hey there--I'm Uncle John.

Now, I know what you're thinking. "That is an awfully distinguished name for a cat." And you'd be right. I do my best to live up to it... most of the time.

I'm a handsome tabby with what the shelter folks lovingly call a "funky little personality." I'm not quite like everybody else, and honestly? I think that's part of my charm.

Before I got here, I was living life as a stray. That means I've had to figure a lot of things out on my own. Food wasn't guaranteed. A warm bed wasn't guaranteed. Feeling safe definitely wasn't guaranteed.

But I'd really like to retire from all that.

I'm ready to trade survival mode for soft blankets. I'd like to learn what it's like to have a human who comes home every day just to see me. I'd like to find out what it feels like to be loved so often that I stop wondering if it's going to disappear.

I don't need a perfect home--I just need my home.

The one where I can let my goofy personality shine, where I can finally relax, and where I never have to wonder where I'm sleeping tonight.

So... if you've got room for one handsome former street cat who's equal parts quirky, charming, and ready to discover what family feels like...

I'd sure like to meet you.

Love,
Uncle John 🐾❤️An adoption application can be filled out on the DHS website https://www.dekalbhumanesociety.org/adopt.
