Tyson 's Story

Tyson was just a tiny kitten who had dragged himself into a kind woman’s garage in Jackson. He was a beautiful pale grey, fiercely feral tabby dragging his left hind leg behind him. She packed him up and took him to Amador County Animal Control.
They knew right away that this kitten was terribly injured and sent him immediately to Dr. Alli Duff at South Main Veterinary hospital. There he had x-rays done which revealed that he had a high femur fracture which split the bone completely in half.
A-PAL Humane Society was asked to take this kitten to get him through a leg amputation and to tame him. We named him Tyson because he is a spicy nugget and a biter. We gave him two types of pain medications from the
vet to keep him comfortable until his surgery could be completed a few days later.
Our Facebook friends and amazing donors rallied and gave more than the $1400 needed for Tyson’s surgery. We were so happy and even more determined to give him the best life we could. Tyson came through the surgery really well and recovered enough to have his stitches removed a couple of weeks later. At that time he was still striking, hissing and biting. We knew he would be a challenge, but he would also alternate those actions with purring and coming forward to get treats and to sniff and explore.
