Twinkie's Story

Meet Twinkie!

Twinkie is a 7-month-old female kitten who has already had quite the journey. She first came to us from a local shelter after being picked up as a stray, arriving there at just 4 weeks old and spending her earliest months in a kennel until she was 4 months old. Those formative weeks taught her how to survive, but not what it means to truly feel at home — and that’s where her next chapter begins.

While Twinkie’s recent adoption didn’t work out, it helped us understand exactly what this sweet girl needs to thrive. She requires patience, gentleness, and time. Twinkie will do best with someone who lets her come around on her own terms and doesn’t rush her progress. She needs a quiet, safe environment where she can feel secure and know that people won’t grab her or push her beyond her comfort zone. Once she learns she can trust you, her soft, curious, and silly personality starts to shine through.

Twinkie is in foster care with other cats and does wonderfully with them. We believe that with proper introductions, she would also do fine with dogs. She loves to play, explore, and observe her world, but she will need a family who truly understands that patience is the key to her heart.

Quick Facts:

Age: 7 months

Sex: Female

Spayed: Yes

Vaccinations: Up to date

FeLV & FIV: Negative

Microchipped: Yes

Health: Healthy

Good with: Cats

With proper introduction: Dogs

If you think you have the calm, loving home that Twinkie needs to blossom, please complete an application at www.oswegocountyspca.org
and help her go From Foster to Forever.

Important Adoption Information:
When you fill out an application, please make sure you have notified your veterinarian that we will be calling and that it is okay to speak with us. If you don’t currently have a vet, please determine which one you will be using and set up care so we can confirm your new pet will receive medical attention when needed.

We are 100% foster-based and 100% volunteer-operated, from the top down. Our team works hard to get animals into their forever homes as quickly as possible. Please be patient with us, but if you don’t hear back within a few days, feel free to message us on our Facebook page to confirm your application went through.
