Tuxedo's Story
Looking for a sweet, gentle companion who is happiest simply being near you? Meet Tuxedo! This handsome black-and-white gentleman is a polite, easygoing boy who loves attention from his people. He enjoys a good head scratch, happily leans into pets, and may greet you with an affectionate little head bump. And if you love a cat with a great purr, you’re in luck! Tuxedo has a wonderful purr that makes spending time with him all the more special.

At five years old, Tuxedo has settled into his mellow ways. He isn’t particularly interested in toys or high-energy play, preferring the simple pleasures of companionship and a comfortable place to relax. Once he feels at home, his curious side may start to emerge, especially if there’s a nice window where he can watch the world go by. He’s also cooperative with handling and has been easygoing during veterinary care, making him a lovely companion for someone who appreciates a calm, gentle personality.

Tuxedo would do best in a smaller, quieter household where he can enjoy plenty of attention without too much commotion. He loves being close to people, so a home where he can keep you company throughout the day would be ideal. He may hide when he feels overwhelmed, so giving him time to settle in and a few cozy places to retreat will help him feel safe. He may do well with another cat, while any introduction to a dog should be approached carefully, with a calm, respectful dog and plenty of time to adjust.

Tuxedo was rescued after being abandoned by his previous owner, and now he’s ready for a fresh start with a family who will cherish him. He is generally healthy, with mild gingivitis that may benefit from ongoing at-home dental care. He is also currently being treated for a yeast infection in his ears and has a recheck scheduled for October 20. His previous ear mite issue has resolved, and he receives monthly parasite prevention.

If you’re looking for a low-key, affectionate companion who will happily keep you company and fill your home with his impressive purr, Tuxedo could be just the fellow you’ve been waiting for. He doesn’t need grand adventures or a toy-filled playroom. Just a cozy home, kind people, and plenty of head scratches will go a long way toward making him happy.
