Tux's Story

Meet Tux

**Tux's adoption fee has been generously sponsored, take him home for no fee today!**

Tux is a handsome senior tuxedo boy with a quiet soul and a heart that's learning to trust. He's the kind of cat who believes in slow mornings, soft voices, and taking life one careful step at a time.

New people can make Tux a bit nervous, so he's looking for a patient, understanding home where things move at a calm, steady pace. He may not be the cat who runs up to greet you right away-but give him time, and you'll be rewarded with a loyal companion who truly appreciates your kindness. Tux loves other cats and would love a furry companion.

Tux is FIV+, which simply means he has a weaker immune system and should live indoors, but it doesn't stop him from enjoying a happy, comfortable life. With regular care and lots of love, FIV+ cats like Tux can live just as long as other cats.

If you're someone who believes the best relationships are built on trust, patience, and gentle moments, Tux may be the perfect match for you. He's ready for a peaceful forever home where he can finally relax and be himself.

Charlottesville-Albemarle SPCA's Adoption Policy
How to Adopt Step 1: Submit an Adoption Application * Please take a look at the adoptable animals below, and if you see one you are interested in, submit an online application using either of the following links. * Submitting an application does not guarantee adoption and does not place the animal on hold. Adoptions are by appointment only. Please submit an application to get a link for scheduling. Step 2: * If the animal you are interested in is in a foster home, we will connect you with the foster via email to set up a virtual appointment or coordinate a time to meet at the shelter. Step 3: Adopt Your New Pet! * Adoptions are processed only after the applicant has met with the animal either through an offsite meeting or at the shelter. * If you have met the animal at the shelter and want to adopt, you can do so that day! Our Adoption Counselors will finalize the paperwork and process payment. All dogs must leave with a collar and a leash, and all cats must leave in a carrier. * If you have spoken with an animal’s foster family and wish to adopt, please reply to the email from our Adoption Counselors, who will process the adoption paperwork and payment electronically.
