Palmetto Paws Animal Rescue's Adoption Policy
ADOPTION THROUGH PALMETTO PAWS:
*For each pet listed there is a bio with all details. Please take the time to read the bio in full as questions already answered in the bio will not be responded to.
*Completion of the adoption application does not guarantee that you will receive an animal from us. There are many things that we take into consideration when reviewing applications. We reserve the right to deny any applicant. Our goal is to match the right animal with the right home.
*We review applications in order received. We don't adopt on a first come, first serve basis. The decision is multifactorial and ultimately based on which applicant we feel is the best match for each pet listed.
*Our pets live in private foster homes. We do not foster to adopt.
*There is no opportunity to meet multiple listed pets. We meet one on one with approved adopters on Saturdays in Mt Pleasant. We do not host adoption events. If at the time of a meet, all parties agree we have a good match, then the pet goes home at that time. We are not able to "hold" a pet to be adopted at a later date.
*We do not consider applications of those not able to meet/adopt on the upcoming Saturday. Please only apply when you are available and ready to adopt.
*Adoption fees vary by listed pet and are disclosed in the bio.
Applications are only considered for pups listed on Petfinder. We do not keep applications "on file" for a later date.
*Most pets listed are mixed breed. We make no representation as to breed mix or potential adult size.
ADOPTION APPLICATION
If you are interested in meeting one of our pets, please read the bio in full prior to submitting an application which can be found on our home page. Incomplete applications are not considered. The question regarding heartworm disease must be answered in full. Heartworm disease is a 100% preventable yet potentially life threatening disease in dogs. We believe every applicant should be well educated regarding heartworm disease and how to prevent it.
Please remember that PPAR is an all volunteer organization. We do our best to process applications in a timely manner. The number of pets in our care and the number of applications we receive may influence processing time.
Due to the high volume of applications received on certain pets we may only be able to respond to the selected applicant.
The minimum age to adopt is 25 years.
