Tripper's Story
7/24/26 Update! Just a quick story... Trippy continues to be a delightful riot of a cat. One day, as he was stomping around the SPIN home trying to get Sue's undivided attention, one of the volunteers opened the front door. And wouldn't you know it? The Tripster bolted outside! Sue in a panic (she may pretend to ignore him, but she loves the little rugrat), ran to the porch. Where she found Trippy waiting there for her to pick him up and bring him back inside. So much for every wanting the outdoor life again!

6/25/26 Update! Tripper is our Cat Of The Week, and to celebrate, we've posted a few videos showing some of Trippy's talents at following commands! Poor cat thinks he's a doggy! Tripper has become big man on campus at the SPIN home, and all of us volunteers love this super interesting kitty. If you could put up with his rough edges, he is quite entertaining with a giant amount of personality! Come visit Trippy this weekend! (Oh, by the way, we are just using his regular dry food in these videos. He is extremely food motivated if you can't tell!)

------------------------------------------------

Tripper is his usual big personality, chatty, demanding, and utterly amusing little self. My oh my the swagger on this kitty! I am working on training him to come, sit, up, go get it, and "pet" (meaning let me pet you). I use a handful of kibble and practice with him, one kibble per command. He is uncannily good at it! His mouthiness continues of course, so care should be taken when handling him. His potential adopter is going to have to want a strong-willed and probably nippy little dude. Don't be deterred! For the right cat person willing to look beyond his somewhat, ahem, questionable manners, this dog-like kitty is delightful and quite unique! And he wants nothing more than to have a household to be in charge of!

Keep in mind Tripper, while perfectly healthy, has tested positive for FIV, which means he probably should not live with cats that do not have FIV. This is NOT something that humans or other non-feline pets can catch! FIV+ cats may be more vulnerable to infections, so care to keep them indoors, vaccinated, and well-nourished are important. Many cats with FIV live normal, long, healthy, happy lives. Please ask your veterinarian for more information.

Stray Pets In Need (SPIN) has weekly open adoption hours where you can drop in and meet our cats at 5 Overbrook Terrace, Natick, MA Fridays 5-7pm and Saturdays/Sundays 3-6pm.

----------------

If you are thinking of adopting Tripper or any other of the SPIN kitties, before you come by consider first filling out an application to speed up the process. The hardest part is providing proof that you either own your home or that your landlord approves you having a cat, other than that it is easy! Find it here:
www.straypetsinneed.org/adoptions/adoption-application.

Don't worry if you do not hear back from us right away! We are all volunteers and sometimes it takes a bit to get through everything. If you see a cat on our website, then it is still available for adoption! Just swing by the SPIN home during open adoption hours and you can meet your potential new kitty then.

All of our available cats are listed at: www.straypetsinneed.org/adoptions/adoptable-pets.

We look forward to meeting you and your family!
