Trinity (Special Needs/Tripod)'s Story
Meet Trinity, Bordentown City Cats’ very special kitten! She was trapped as part of a TNVR project, and it soon became obvious why she was able to be caught so easily: Trinity is missing half of her back leg. The cause of this amputation is uncertain; it could be anything from a looped umbilical cord in the womb, to an animal attack, but she has healed well, and has learned to navigate life without it. She currently uses a padded “bootie” to help protect her leg ending, and veterinarians have recommended a “watch and wait” strategy, allowing her to grow, before determining if she should have surgery, or if an adaptive prosthetic may be of benefit.

Despite being a tripod, Trinity is enjoying life like any rescued kitten! She loves to run and play, scamper through her tunnel, and she is learning to jump! Trinity is also very friendly and gentle, and enjoys cuddles and snuggle time. She has met many people and is fostered in a home with other cats and kittens.

Trinity’s estimated day of birth is May 23, 2025. Her ideal home will be with another young cat to grow and learn with. Because of her missing leg, she will be more comfortable in a home without stairs, and with carpets and soft surfaces to make mobility safer. She would do best in a patient, gentle family, without dogs or aggressive cats. Trinity’s forever family will love to play and snuggle, and will understand that she will need accommodations and some extra vet care as she grows, her body changing and getting bigger.

Like all BCC kitties, Trinity will be spayed, age appropriately vaccinated, snap tested for FIV and FeLV, and microchipped before adoption. It is BCC policy not to adopt young kittens as “only kittens” - to a household without another young cat. Though she does not have a sibling in foster care with her, she is accustomed to having the company of other kittens. Applications for her, as an only cat in a household will not be processed. Trinity is currently available for Pre-Surgery Adoption, to someone local to the Bordentown City area, and is anticipated to be spayed in September. Post-Surgery adoptions can then be completed if the adopter lives further afield.
