Torpedo's Story

Name: Torpedo
Breed: Domestic Short Hair
Sex: Neutered Male
Age: 16 years
Weight: 13.5 lbs
Animal Number: 4495

Super Chill, Lovable, Friendly, Has Medical Needs

Good with dogs? Yes, he has met the two Pitties in his foster home and does not mind them at all. He’ll set his boundaries if needed. He lived with smaller dogs in his prior home and did fine with them as well.

Good with cats? Yes, he has met the senior cat in his foster home and a kitten in a temp foster home and did fine with both. He co-exists well with other cats.

Good with kids? Not Tested

Energy level: Very Low. He sleeps the majority of the day and likes to be petted and loved. He moves slowly due to his arthritis but is able to get on and off of furniture on his own.

Medical needs: Torpedo gets a monthly shot of Solensia for his arthritis, administered by a veterinarian. It helps him so much! He became a different cat after his second shot, moving around his house with greater ease and comfort. He also has early stages of kidney disease and needs Rx kidney protection food. Care for his kidneys could increase as the disease progresses. He needs a litter box that opens on the side, with a pee pad underneath, due to how he positions himself in the box. It’s just an aim issue, due to his stance, that can be managed. He has stage 1 dental disease but it has not been determined to be causing him any pain. Due to his age, the risk of undergoing a cleaning under anesthesia outweighs the benefit of cleaning them in his manner.

Animal Characteristics: Torpedo, aka Petey, is a super chill, lovable, friendly senior kitty! He spends most of the day sleeping, but does also like to wander around and explore and LOVES to get pets and scritches. He loves meeting new people and knows no strangers! He does not mind being picked up and really likes to lay next to you and receive affection. Torpedo was rescued from a partially outdoor life by a kind person who passed away, and he’s looking for his loving forever home where he can spend his golden years sharing his sweet-natured affection!

Please learn more about the adoption process and fill out an application at www.pawsco.org/adopt/adoption-process. You can also contact my friends at PawsCo at adopt@pawscoadoptions.org if you have questions. I look forward to meeting you!
