Topher's Story

Topher's story starts behind a deli counter in New York, where he quietly made a life for himself until one day, that chapter closed :(. But once he realized he was finally in a place filled with kindness, something shifted. The shy observer melted away, and in his place emerged a cat with a big heart, a bigger appetite, and an even bigger voice when it's dinner time.

Likes:

All the attention you're willing to give (and then some)
Mealtime... and announcing mealtime... loudly
Cozy spots where he can relax near his people
Living with other cats—he's currently doing well with feline friends

Dislikes / Needs:

Being picked up (he prefers affection on his own four paws)
Sudden changes—he'll need a little time and patience to settle in
Has not been tested with dogs yet
Would do best in a home with older, respectful kids

Topher may take a moment to unpack his suitcase of feelings, but once he does, you'll find a devoted cuddle bug who will happily fill your home with love... and the occasional dramatic dinner announcement.

Cats are negative for FelV/FIV, receive age-appropriate vaccines and deworming, are spayed/neutered and are microchipped (free lifetime registration with adoption).

All of our pets go home with a "Go Home Goody Bag" that includes a starter supply of food, treats, toys, and a voucher for a free month of pet insurance from Trupanion.

Location: Bolton, CT
Adoption Fee: $250

Paws 4 Life Animal Rescue, Inc.'s Adoption Policy
ADOPTION PROCESS Our goal is to match the right pet with the right adopter. This means we approach each adoption opportunity in a unique way. One of our adoption specialists will meet (in person, or by phone) with you to learn about your "ideal pet." We take into consideration lifestyle, family dynamic, desired personality traits and an adopter's overall objective in bringing a new pet into their home and make recommendations on which of our pets may be a good fit. ADOPTION SUPPORT We understand that bringing a new pet into your home can be a little stressful. It can take time for a new animal to settle in, and you may have questions about behavior or routine. When we adopt out a pet to a new home, we are available to answer any questions that come up - and to support the new adopter with any special needs they may have related to in-home adjustment. Because our pets are fostered in private homes, we can let you know what's normal, what's not and how to address any initial challenges you may have. FEES Adoption fees vary by animal, and take into consideration age, breed and other characteristics. We strive to keep adoption fees reasonable and many of our animals receive veterinary care at costs that far exceed the adoption fee. Adoption fees are listed on each animal's description. WHAT'S INCLUDED All of our adoptable animals receive age-appropriate vaccines, are spayed/neutered (at age-appropriate time), have a microchip and are tested for species-specific diseases. They also go home with a certificate for one month of FREE pet insurance through Trupanion.
