Tomislav (Tommy)'s Story

Meet Tomislav, affectionately known as Tommy - a magnificent large brown tabby with a gentle manner and a big heart. After spending more than a year living outdoors and surviving on the kindness of neighbours, Tommy was rescued in January and brought indoors, where he is learning to appreciate the perks of being a pampered pet.

Tommy is a trusting and affectionate boy who loves people. He can be quite shy initially until he gets a sense that he is safe. Food is the way to his heart—he loves all food, and canned seafood in particular! Once Tommy feels secure and things are calm, he’ll come out and settle onto his favourite cushion by the couch to hang out companionably with his people, staying even when company comes to visit.

Tommy enjoys attention, especially being brushed, and will come up to ask you for pets. He communicates with a range of cute little meows. He’s not a lap cat yet, but that may come with time.

It took a while for Tommy to figure out how to play, but he’s got the hang of it now—when he’s in the mood for some fun, he’ll start chasing his tail. Tommy hasn’t met all the toys yet, but he likes running after the laser and will play with catnip toys on his own.

Sweet Tommy has so much love and joy to give and deserves to spend the second half of his life in a warm and safe home with kind and caring people. He will thrive in a calm environment, on his own or with another friendly cat.

Would you like to make Tommy a part of your family? Please complete our online application found at: www.avacats.org/adoption-application-form.

Our adoption fees cover vetting and include spay/neuter, vaccines (initial FVRCP and rabies), flea treatment, two deworming treatments and microchipping.

Adoption fees are $250 for each adult cat 1 year or older. Please note that fees may apply for additional required vaccinations (at $75 per booster) due prior to adoption. Total adoption fees will be confirmed by the AVA Adoption Coordinator.
