TomTom & Silas's Story
TomTom is 11 years old and a very handsome boy. We love his heart-shaped nose and the way his green eyes glimmer with curiosity. He likes to observe all that goes on, and he watches our volunteers fish out the toys he pawed under shelves the night before.

The living situation TomTom came from was less than ideal, but through it all, his brother Silas has stayed by his side. Silas is his best friend. He brings Tommy a sense of security and comfort, and the feeling of home.

Each week, TomTom makes more progress in getting closer to us. We sit and talk to him, exchange slow blinks, and feed him Churu off our fingers. We reassure him humans are no longer scary how they were when he was growing up, and that he can trust us when we say we will never hurt him.

If you are a cat-savvy person with a big heart, these two boys may be the ones for you.

Stop by to fill out an adoption application and spend as much time as you like with our cats. We do not adopt first come; we always select the best placement for our animals. Please call your veterinarian to permit them to speak with us for our vet check. If you rent, bring proof (lease/contract) that you are allowed to have a cat.

Our adoption fee is $50 for cats. This includes FIV/FeLV testing, flea/tick preventatives, deworming, age-appropriate vaccines, and spay/neuter if six months or older. If they are too young, we require a $50 deposit that will be refunded upon proof that the pet has been altered.

For more info on our shelter and available pets, check us out online:

West Milford Animal Shelter Society
Lycosky Drive, West Milford, NJ 07480
(973) 728-2859

Visiting Hours
Mon - Fri: 10 - 1
Wed Night: 7:30 - 9
Weekends: 10 - 3
