Tom Cat aka Apollo's Story

Apollo: Churu licking, cat and people loving pet bedaholic

Believe it or not, I've spent a couple years as a feral, hanging out at a cat station that had food daily in Leominster, MA. There was this cute little Tortie number that would eat at the same feeding station as me. I can't say we were friends but it was nice to have company on occasion. We got along. Then there was this other guy. He was a jerk. He would be me up. He was an owned cat who kept running away and coming to my colony. Finally the owners of the property that the colony was at said they were done with me getting beat up so I got trapped with that hot little Tortie number. She went to the neighbor's house and I came inside finally to the house where I was feeding, this lap of luxury place where my foster feeds me all the time and gives me these lickie sticks called Churus. And there is even another cat here that used to be outside with me. He looks like he's getting some weight but I try not to judge.

Now I enjoy the finer things, like catching up on my sleep. After just a few days inside I realized all I have to do is act cute and I get all the attention. I am genius!

I didn’t understand cat beds at first, but I quickly warmed up to having a comfy bed to sleep in, but I much prefer my flower cat tree! It's like being one with nature indoors.

I have this cute little tilt of my ear and although outside I had this sour puss on my face, I think I'm starting to smile.

I have become a people kitty. My favorite thing is being pet. If you stop, I may will give you a little love chomp asking for more. If you walk away from me, I am very vocal and will let you know I want you to come back for more one-on-one time. My foster finds Me adorable.

I also have all these toys around. They're nice. I play with them. They're amusing.

The best way to my heart is through my stomach. I'm still getting used to the abundance of food that is around for me. I know I act like I'm not being fed but in all honesty, I get a lot of food. Sometimes I try to eat out of the bowl as there filling it, just as a reminder of how much I appreciate their food and, maybe I am a little impatient. They don't seem to mind. I love Churu sticks straight from the tube!

My ideal home would be a quieter home, as loud noises can be spooky! I also preferred not to be snuck up on. Kids and dogs are a bit much for me because they are rather loud. I would prefer someone who is home more, so I have company and lots of affection. I know, you can't believe I was really a feral, right? I need someone who understands that I might need space on occasion, and maybe someone with kitties because I really don't have an issue with kitties. We get along great. Except for that one kitty outside. He was just a jerk though.

Fitchburg Friends of Felines facilitates a foster to adopt program that places the intended adoptee with the potential adoptive family. This ensures that your feline companion is the perfect fit as well as provides support as you both transition into your new life together.

You can fill out an adoption application here:

https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSe1685w60NjfU2eeE55Cd57TAaEZU7bERjyY825EMto48sTQw/viewform

Please reach out to Fitchburg Friends of Felines directly at 978-222-3170 or fitchburgfriendsoffelines@gmail.com with questions. Fitchburg Friends of Felines, Inc.'s Adoption Policy
Potential adopters are required to have a solid character reference, vet reference, and a site visit which can be conducted virtually. Due to MA regulations, we cannot intake pets from out of state. We offer a foster to adopt program to guarantee the intended kitty is a good fit for your family. We also require that all adopters agree to return the kitty should the adopter no longer be able to care for him or her in the future, or an agreed to person is identified to continue care for this kitty. We are not a brick and mortar; all available cats are kept in foster homes. Therefore, we would need time to schedule a visit to meet a kitty. We are happy to travel to match the perfect kitty for your family. Our adoption fees are normally $250 per cat, $350 for specialty breeds or exotics, and $50 less per kitty if interested in multiples. For specific questions, or for an adoption application, please feel free to reach out to us directly: fitchburgfriendsoffelines@gmail.com or call our hotline: 978-222-3170
