TOM's Story

Tom is the sweetest boy. He melts into affection and soaks up all the pets, ear scratches, and any extra love you’re willing to give him. Everyone who knows him knows how friendly he is – but people who visit the shelter tend to overlook him because Tom likes to spend most of his time in his “cat cave.” He’s not trying to hide from people, but it seems like that’s the impression most people get. In reality, that’s just the comfiest spot he could find. He’ll come out for treats though!!! Tom wasn’t found in the best of shape. He came in battling a skin infection and an upper respiratory infection, and while under our vet team’s care, it was discovered he also has an eye ulcer that was made worse by him having feline herpesvirus (only contagious to other cats). What Tom needs now isn’t just medical care - it’s a calm, loving environment where he can truly heal. The shelter is loud, stressful, and overcrowded, and it’s not the place for a cat like him to recover and thrive. Tom is looking for a foster or rescue who can give him that chance. A quiet space, a soft bed (or a cozy cat cave), and someone to show him that he’s safe.
