Toffee's Story
Toffee is a domestic short haired, torbie (brown tabby with orange / tan "splotches"), spayed female kitten with an estimated date of birth of Sept. 7, 2025. Toffee is the sister to Oreo; and her brothers Rolo and Truffle have been adopted.

Toffee and 4 siblings, along with their mom Mia, were removed from a rural area in Becker County, MN south of Detroit Lake at approximately 2 weeks of age. Sadly, one littermate had been attacked by a predator, and was still alive when rescued, but died shortly afterwards from her injuries. Their mom was in the process of moving her kittens to another location, and more than likely the other 4 siblings would have met the same fate had this cat family not been rescued. In addition, had the person who did rescue and remove this cat family had been allowed onto the property when first contacted, that sibling would probably still be alive.

Attacks from predators are a harsh reality to vulnerable kittens born outdoors who also face temperature extremes, disease, starvation, collisions with motor vehicles and cruel humans. Such suffering would be drastically reduced if people spayed and neutered their pets and kept them on their property. If you are going to feed outdoor cats then you should take the responsibility of getting them fixed / desexed.

Toffee may be small in stature, but she does not let her brother push her around. She enjoys wrestling with her sibling, and climbing her foster mom like a tree to chew on her hair. Toffee is a "tortie in training" as she growls and acts tough around the other adult cats in her foster home so she may become cat selective in her new home. Toffee is fine around her siblings and mom. Toffee's favorite toy is a coiled plastic spring.

Toffee can be adopted with Oreo or her mom Mia, or go to a home with another young, playful and friendly cat. A home where Toffee is the only pet will also be considered as she can be a bit cat selective in terms of compatibility with other kitties.

Spayed; current on vaccinations including rabies; feline leukemia virus and feline immunodeficiency virus negative; dewormed; microchipped; and litter box trained.
