Toasty's Story

Hi, my name is Toasty! I'm a RED pawprint, which means I need an experienced home that meets some specific criteria. Here is what would work best for me in my new home:

-Personality: Shy, sensitive, affectionate once comfortable
-Can Live with Cats: No - Toasty tolerated the other cats in her previous household, but she will likely prefer to be an only cat going forward.
-Can Live with Dogs: No - Toasty has never lived with dogs. Most dogs will likely be too overwhelming.
-Can Live with Kids: No thanks - Toasty would prefer a home with quiet teens or an adults-only.
-Needs Indoor Only Home: Yes, Toasty is used to living indoors.
-History of Litter Box Issues: Toasty would often poop outside of her kennel in her previous home. She has had a few accidents here at the shelter, mostly due to stress. A low stress household will likely help with this behavior.
-Energy Level: Moderate
-Bite History: None
-Needs Medical Procedure Before Going Home: Yes - a vet check.

Meet Toasty, a shy and sensitive adult cat who is looking for her forever home. Toasty can take a bit to warm up, and would appreciate having some hiding spots available in her new home. Once she is settled in, she will become a sweet and affectionate companion. A quiet, low-traffic household would be ideal for this cat. If you think Toasty is the cat for you, adopt today!

If you are interested in adopting, please fill out an application on our website (www.whatcomhumane.org/adopt) or in person at our facility. We recommend calling into the shelter after your application has been submitted so our front desk can give you next steps on our adoption process.
