Toast's Story
Toast is an observant kitten who can come across as shy, but it doesn't take her long to get comfortable with new friends. And once she does, this sweet girl is overflowing with affection and silliness! She has a wonderfully grounding presence, paired with an endearing sense of curiosity and a whole lot of love to give. Her favorite things include cardboard scratchers, climbing cat trees, wrestling with her very best friend (Honey Bun), and stealthily watching you before sneaking up for playtime or cuddles.

Toast & Honey Bun's ideal home would be:

* Gentle: Dogs, other cats, and kids are all welcome, provided everyone is respectful and gentle with them.
* Energetic: Room for zoomies, wrestling matches, and plenty of playtime, please!
* Accommodating: Toast may need a few environmental modifications, like ramps or stairs, to help her comfortably access certain areas.

You may have noticed that Toast looks a little different, but her unique forelimbs haven't slowed her down one bit!

Toast has a condition called hemimelia, which affects the development of her front limbs. Her rescue veterinarians recommend an evaluation with an orthopedic specialist between 6 and 12 months of age to help assess her needs as she grows.

Cats with hemimelia can live happy, fulfilling lives, although their long term needs vary depending on the individual. Toast is currently living a blissfully pain free life, but she may be at increased risk of developing arthritis or other orthopedic complications as she gets older.

Her adopters will need to be comfortable recognizing signs of pain or discomfort in cats and prepared to invest in ongoing veterinary care, including more frequent evaluations and pain management if needed. Toast may need a little extra accommodation along the way, but she has plenty of kitten shenanigans to get on with in the meantime!

If you're looking for a precious pair of loyal companions who will both melt into your lap for a nap AND keep you cackling with their silly kitten antics, Toast and Honey Bun are your GIRLS!
