Toast's Story

We cant even begin to properly explain just how CHILL of a guy our new friend Toast is. Honestly, his name fits him perfectly, because this big boy is basically the emotional support version of a warm piece of buttered toast. Comforting, cozy, and guaranteed to make your day better.

Seriously, this dude is just happy to exist wherever his people are. He loves to snuggle, will crash on a warm fleece blanket or cozy cat bed for HOURS, and when he’s awake he just wants to be close, purring away while soaking up pets and attention. Toast is around 2 years old and a whopping 15 lbs of pure cuddle buddy. A BIG handsome hunk of cat.

He has had only one experience around dogs since being in rescue, but he’s been wonderfully relaxed with the couple of cat encounter he has had so far. Although he has done well with cats, he has FIV so introductions with cats that are FIV negative need to be slow, monitored and controlled. Because Toast is FIV+, we’d ideally love to see him go to a home without other cats or with other FIV+ cats. And before anyone gets nervous, FIV really isn’t the scary diagnosis people made it out to be in the 90s and early 2000s. It simply means his immune system can be a little more compromised at times, so he could get sick easier than other cats. That said, Toast has been incredibly healthy with us and may very well continue living a completely normal, happy life.

We also currently have another FIV+ sweetheart available for adoption, Grey Bro! So if you’ve been thinking about adopting special needs cats (such as a fiv positive cat) but haven't wanted to only end up with one for the forseeable future, this could be the purrfect opportunity to bring home two ridiculously sweet boys together. Black cats have a hard time getting out of the rescue system at all let alone in a timely manner due to their color alone. They're often overlooked, and this boy now has another mark against him for finding a loving forever home. BUT if you're even considering meeting this boy, we promise you, you won't want to go home without him after you see how much love he has to give, even for strangers.

Apply at the link below to bring a MASSIVE new best friend home to your family.

https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSdy9NUdRzsagXgNJ7xhCHp5LZnTUYFxN-2jh4HgXKTou9k-tA/viewform
