Tim Tim's Story

Meet Tim Tim

Some cats are impossible to forget... and Tim Tim is one of them.

At 8 years young, this sweet senior boy came into our care from a heartbreaking hoarding situation in Monroe after his owner was hospitalized. When Tim Tim arrived, he was carrying more than emotional scars. He had a massive open wound on his backside that honestly left us worried about what his future might look like.

But Tim Tim had other plans.

With time, patience, love, and wonderful veterinary care, this incredible boy has fought his way back. The wound that once looked so severe has healed beautifully and is even growing hair back - something that truly feels like a miracle considering where he started.

And through it all? Tim Tim has remained nothing but sweet.

He's the kind of cat that makes you root for him instantly. The underdog. The overlooked senior. The boy who has every reason not to trust the world, yet still chooses kindness.

Tim Tim does wonderfully with the litter box, gets along well with cats and dogs, and has the calm, comforting personality that makes senior cats so special. He isn't asking for perfection. He's simply hoping for a soft place to land and someone willing to love a boy who deserves a second chance.

Senior cats have a way of loving differently. Deeper. Softer. Grateful in ways that are hard to explain unless you've experienced it yourself.

We truly believe Tim Tim still has many wonderful years ahead of him - years filled with cozy naps, gentle head nudges, and finally knowing what it feels like to be safe and cherished.

Save Monroe Strays's Adoption Policy
Thank you for your interest in adopting from us! We are an all volunteer, 501c3 animal rescue in southeast Michigan. Our mission is to place all of our animals in loving, permanent homes. You are not purchasing a pet from us; you are adopting a living, breathing, creature that deserves safety, love and care. Your answers on the application are assurance to us that the animals we care for are going to good, permanent homes. All of the information on the application is confidential. Feline adoption fees - $125 for kittens under 8 months, $100 if over 8 months, and $60 if over 9 years old. Canine adoption fees - $350 for puppies under 1 year, $300 if over 1 year, and $200 if over 7 years old. Foster-to-adopt and Adoption fees are non-refundable. We do not use a first-come, first-serve process when adopting out our animals. Instead, we focus on best fit for each individual animal. The process is intended to ensure a long-term successful adoption for both the family and pet. Dogs can live 10-15 years, and cats can live 15-20 years, so please make sure your lifestyle allows the time, patience, and ability to cover expenses your new pet will need over the years. Will you be travelling frequently, moving soon, or having children? Responsible pet ownership includes as-needed and routine veterinary care, quality food, preventatives, and other supplies. You must be at least 21 years old to adopt. All of our adoptable animals have had a complete veterinarian checkup. Our dogs and puppies are heartworm tested. All of our animals are spayed/neutered, dewormed, and have received age-appropriate vaccines before going to their forever homes.
