Looking for some "spice" in your life? Well...meet Tillie. Tillie was born June 2022 and adopted out as a kitten. However, as she aged her true personality became a bit too much for the family and she came back to us December 2023. As Tik Tokker Elyse Myers said "If you think I am too much, then find less." Look. Lets be completely honest...Tillie has attitude and a lot of it. Can she be loving and want to constantly head butt you? Yes. Can she also want to take a chunk out of your hand for daring to be near her? Also yes. Does she kind of scare our more seasoned volunteers. Absolutely. But look at her! She is GORGEOUS! When she is in a mood, that gorgeous tail goes swish, swish, bish.... She does not like other cats, dogs, cows, turtles, gold fish...and honestly people are just there to ensure she gets her treats and wet food...and the aforementioned head butts. Also, because of her personality, we would not recommend small children. Teens or older only. Really, she just wants a place to co-exist. A nice window seat. Wet food. And for you to cater to her every whim. Tillie is fully vetted, vaccinated (we "think" the vet staff is ok, now), microchipped, spayed (not only because we frown upon more litters of kittens but honestly...we are scared to see what might happen if she was able to reproduce), and FIV/FELV negative. Hoopeston Animal Rescue Team's Adoption Policy

Adoption procedure is by appointment with a pre approved application on file. This process is smooth and fast, saving your time and ours. In most cases once you are pre approved you may take home your pet of choice the day you visit. Along with your adoption applications please send us a copy of your driver's license, and a virtual visit of your home, photos or a video tour of your home inside and out and if you are applying for a dog we need to see your yard and if your yard contains a fence, please photograph all four sides of your fencing. Please note that a fence is not required to adopt most dogs. Please understand that we handle each adoption on an individual basis and we adopt based on best match, not first come first serve. We do not make appointments until your adoption application has been processed. The processing of your application may take a few days to one week, much depends on how thorough your application has been filled out, and how accessible your references are. Please make sure that when you submit your adoption application that we also receive a copy of driver's licenses of all adults living in household.
