Tigger's Story
Looking for a perfectly behaved, low maintenance cat? Yeah... Tigger is probably not your guy.

When Tigger first arrived at the shelter, we'll be honest, we were a little nervous. He had a rough start and there may have been a couple of "welcome to the shelter" bites while everyone learned how to understand each other. After losing his owner, Tigger's entire world was turned upside down, and he needed time to grieve, adjust, and figure out who he could trust.

Once Tigger decides you're his person, though, everything changes. Underneath that spicy first impression is a very affectionate, loyal, and loving cat who just wants someone he can trust. Tigger doesn't give his heart away right away, but when he does, he bonds deeply and becomes an incredibly devoted companion.

Tigger is definitely a cat with a big personality. He believes your morning coffee is a shared experience (mostly because he may try to knock it over), your lap is the perfect place to be, and your body is basically just a really tall cat tree. Personal space is not something he fully understands, and he will happily climb on you, interrupt whatever you're doing, and make sure he is involved in everything.

While Tigger is not a mean cat, he does struggle with the idea of being left behind. If you try to walk away from him, he may try to stop you. We believe this comes from his fear and uncertainty after losing the person he knew and loved. More than anything, we think Tigger just needs someone who will show him that he is safe, he is home, and he isn't going anywhere.

Tigger does have some special requirements. He takes time to warm up to new people, is not a huge fan of men, and would do best in a quiet home without children or a lot of visitors. He needs someone who is patient and understands that trust takes time. The person who earns Tigger's trust will get a loyal friend who loves deeply and has a huge personality.

Tigger isn't the easiest cat, but he is absolutely worth it. We know there is someone out there who will appreciate his unique personality and give him the safe, loving home he deserves. If you'd like to know more about Tigger, give us a call or stop by the shelter to meet him. He may take a little time to win over, but we think he's pretty special. ***Petfinder and Adopt-A-Pet inquiries are not monitored by Elmore SPCA***

**Shelter hours are Wednesday - Sunday from 12pm to 4pm**

**Applications, as well as personal references may be electronically submitted from our website at www.elmorespca.org/adoptionapp.html.**

>>Due to the heavy load of adoption applications received processing of applications can take up to 7-14 business days.

**Courtesy Listings are for owners looking to place their pets without them coming into the shelter because the shelter is full, or the owner prefers to find a new family for their pet on their own.
