Tiger’s FAQs

What is Russellville Animal Shelter’s adoption process?

Adoption Fees: Dogs: $40 Cats: $20 All dogs have had 6 in 1 and kennel cough vaccinations. All cats have had their yearly vaccines except their rabies. Any animal under 3 months of age will have to stay at the shelter until it reaches that age. This is due to a state law that all animals have to be spayed or neutered prior to leaving our facility. Any dog under 6 months of age will be held for 3 weeks after intake so they can receive at least 2 rounds of their puppy shots. After that, when they are adopted, they will have to be taken to the vet by the adopter and given their last round. The records of these vaccines will be on the adoption papers. Upon adoption the adopter will need to go to a vet and have the animal receive a rabies vaccine. We also recommend a general checkup on any animal you adopt that includes a fecal exam, heart-worm test, and to begin a regimen of heart-worm preventative. Come visi
