Tig's Story

Tig is a stunning one-year-old brown tabby with gorgeous hints of warm orange woven through her long-haired coat. This sweet girl has had a rough go of it. After being bullied by another cat in her previous home, Tig needs a calm, peaceful environment where she can truly exhale and be herself. Once she feels safe she absolutely blossoms into a little cuddle bug soaking up every pet and snuggle like it's her full-time job. Tig is looking for a quiet home where she can be the one and only — no competition, no anxiety, just patience and pure devoted companionship. In return, she'll give you her whole heart. All of our cats come spayed or neutered, microchipped, and with age-appropriate vaccinations. Young cats have an adoption fee of $175. Alternative Humane Society of Whatcom County's Adoption Policy

AHS does not do same-day adoptions. We provide a form called a “Statement of Interest” for potential adopters to fill out. When completed, this form is reviewed by an AHS volunteer (the animal’s Case Manager) who will contact any potential adopter with any additional questions and arrange a meeting if it looks like a good match. The potential adopter usually hears back from a volunteer within 1-2 weeks. The case manager will only be contacting SOI that our might be a good fit and will arrange a meet and greet. Adoption fees for DOGS are: Puppies (up to age 18 months): $425 (plus $200spay/neuter deposit for puppies that are not spayed or neutered at time of adoption)Cash only Adults (18 months - 8 years old): $350 Seniors (8 years and up): $225 Adoption fees for CATS are: Kittens (up to 6 months): $200 Young Adult cats (7 months -3 years) $175 Adult cats (4-7 years): $150 Senior Cats (8+ years) $100 Adoption fees include: Basic shots, spay/neuter, and microchip on dogs and cats (except puppies under 6 months of age). All cats are FIV/FELV tested.
