What is Transylvania County Animal Services’s adoption process?

Adopting a shelter dog or cat  is a 10 to 15 year commitment. Most animals in shelters arrive frightened and in need of care. The animals receive what they need and most thrive when placed in a stable home. Transylvania County treats animals for their immediate needs, tests for common diseases, vaccinates and spays or neuters the pet before leaving. An application is completed, a deposit made and the pet is sterilized. After surgery, the pet is ready to go home! Our adoption fees are: Dogs $100-115 Cats $90-105
