Thyme's Story

Meet Thyme, a brave and beautiful three-month-old beige tabby, named after the herb that symbolizes resilience. Thyme was born in a dark basement, alongside her two brothers, Basil and Parsley. While Basil and Parsley quickly blossomed into affectionate companions, Thyme struggled with the transition. At just a few weeks old, she was still very fearful, scaling walls and hesitating at any human touch.

Recognizing her need for extra care, we gave Thyme one-on-one attention. She has since been fully vetted, spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, and snap-tested negative so she is healthy and ready for her future. Though she still finds human interaction a bit overwhelming, shes making remarkable progress. Shes affectionate with her doggy foster sibling, and she adores the other cats in the home, often rubbing against them with trust. Thyme is a spirited, opinionated soulwhen she doesnt like something, shell let you know with a little squeak or a bold meow. But once trust is built especially after a meal she leans in, purring and asking for cuddles.

Thyme needs an adopter with patience, dedication, and a quiet, safe environment where her personality can flourish. Once she feels secure, theres no doubt that she will become an incredibly loving companion.

If you are interested in adopting Tyme, please fill out our adoption application here https://new.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/CCRN/Cat

The Cat Collective Rescue NY's Adoption Policy
All adopters complete an application, a short interview, a home check (virtual or in-person), and references so we can ensure the best possible match for both the cat and the family. We carefully consider household dynamics — including other pets, children, lifestyle, and experience — to help make placements that are safe, successful, and lasting. Adoption is a lifelong commitment (often 15–20 years), and if a match doesn’t work out, the cat must be returned to our rescue — never rehomed independently or surrendered elsewhere. Declawing is not permitted. The adoption fee helps cover spay/neuter, vaccinations, testing, microchipping, and medical care; it is a contribution toward the cat’s care, not a purchase. We believe normal cat behaviors like scratching, climbing, and adjustment periods are part of the journey, and we’re here to support you — including check-ins after adoption to help ensure a smooth transition.
