Thumbelina spent her entire life deeply cherished by her owner, but after he unexpectedly entered hospice, he sadly passed away. Losing her beloved person has been a massive adjustment for her. To add to her stress, she previously lived with an over-domineering cat, which took a toll on her confidence. Through no fault of her own, she is now looking for a calm, patient, and loving forever home to heal her heart and rebuild her spirit.<br/><br/>True to her Snowshoe heritage, Thumbelina is absolutely gorgeous with striking eyes, but it's her endearing personality that will truly capture you. When she isn't busy being a professional sunbather in her favorite cardboard scratching bed, she reveals her surprisingly playful side. She has a youthful spirit and absolutely loses her mind (in the best way) for laser lights and skittering ping-pong balls!<br/><br/>The Ideal Home:<br/>Because of her background, Thumbelina is strictly looking for a pet-free home where she can finally be the undisputed queen of her castle. She thrives on routine and quiet comfort, so she is best suited for an adult-only home or one with older, cat-savvy teenagers.<br/><br/>A Note on Her Personality: Thumbelina is a very independent and dignified lady who loves affection on her own terms. She is a wonderful communicator and will gently let you know when shes reached her limit for pets by giving a soft, toothy touch- just a polite little boundary marker to say, "Thank you, human, I'm all full on cuddles for now!"<br/><br/>If you have a sunny window, a cardboard scratcher, and a heart ready to give a sweet, deserving cat a second chance at a peaceful happiness, Thumbelina is waiting for you.<br/><br/><br/>All cats and kittens are spayed or neutered, up to date on rabies and distemper, and have had de-wormer medication as a preventive measure. All have tested negative for FIV and feline leukemia. Some kitties may even have a microchip.<br/><br/>HOW TO ADOPT<br/><br/>*Complete an adoption application on our website<br/>http://www.orphananimalrescue.org/adopt<br/><br/>*Contact your veterinarian's office and NON-RELATED personal references to expect a phone call from someone at OARS. This helps us process the application within 2 days.<br/><br/>We focus on providing personalized care for these cats in a loving, home-like environment. Cats live in cozy rooms (cage-free!) where they are able to play with their favorite toys, watch bird feeder activity, and nap in a favorite sunny spot.<br/><br/>We partner with other rescues and shelters when bringing pets to our rescue. We do not accept cats from the public. This approach allows us to help organizations near capacity or those with a special kitty that may need more attention. We are completely donation supported.
