Update 3/13/26 - Here is the latest update from Teapost's foster:'Teapot is very sweet, gentle, and curious. I would describe her personality as having a kind of gentle curiosity. She enjoys exploring the apartment and especially loves looking out the window. She will often sit and watch the neighborhood dogs playing outside. She has not interacted directly with dogs, but she seems calm and curious when watching them and does not hiss or show signs of fear.
She is very good with people. She can be a little shy at first, but she is trusting and very sweet. She does not run away from visitors and is generally friendly and open with people. She is not aggressive at all. Even when she gets slightly agitated, the most she does is meow loudly.
She enjoys affection and often comes over for gentle pets. Sometimes she will come sit near me and purr when I rub her. She is a very calm and gentle cat.
Although she is gentle she has a mouth on her and will be vocal to make sure her needs are met! She is sweet and sassy.
Teapot is playful as well. Her favorite toy is definitely her wand toy, and she enjoys interactive play. She also likes batting at toys on her own. She enjoys treats quite a lot. She also likes wet food occasionally, but she doesn’t always eat it all in one sitting.'
Update 2/18/26 - Here is what Teapot's foster family has to say:'Teapot, affectionately called Pepper, is just the sweetest girl! She greets me with sweet meows and kind chirps, and loves to curl up at the end of the night. She loves her wand toy! (be prepared to play all day lol). She also loves to gaze out the window, so be sure to keep the windows open and provide her with a nice view. Throughout the day she mostly plays, naps, and nibbles on her food. She meows with cute, soft chirps. She loves to cuddle and purrrr at the end of the night as well as when you return from a long day. She is well socialized and does well with people. (I have friends with cats and am arranging a cat play date this weekend to see how she does with them). She is very curious and loves to sneak into little corners and crevices. She requires bedroom access or else she will be vocal at night. As long as you keep the door cracked she will be alright. If you close the door and close her out she will meow loudly at night until the door is opened. She tolerates being picked up but does not enjoy it past a few seconds. She uses her litter box regularly and drinks lots of water. She does seek attention from time to time, but overall she is more chill. She often plays by herself (trapping & chasing 'prey' around the house). Overall, she is a somewhat shy yet very open and lovable kitty. She would make a lovely addition to anyone's home.'Original Story:This sweetheart was adopted from ARWOB by her foster, who had her from September to December 2024. He could not say goodbye to her when an applicant inquired about her and chose to adopt her. Sadly, we were just contacted by her family and were told that Teapot has to go. Why? Because the couple, who have a human kiddo under 8 years old and now have a newborn baby, are being kept up at night. They did adopt a dog 3 months after finalizing the adoption of Teapot and since then she has lost the run of the house. With a pregnant mom, a new dog in the family, along with a working dad, it is likely the attention and priorities in the household have changed.
Teapot had always been allowed access inside their bedroom, but a few months before the new baby was due to arrive, she was left outside the bedroom. Although the family believe she is a great cat and love her, the vocalization at night has reached a point of needing her gone.
If you would like to meet this adorable girl and give her the forever home she deserves, please complete an online application at www.arwob.org right away! We would love to find her a forever family as soon as possible. If you would like to meet one of our animals, PLEASE fill out an adoption application.
Dog Adoption Application
Cat Adoption Application

PLEASE NOTE: IF YOU ARE IN THE MILITARY please fill out a short questionnaire in addition to the adoption application.
Military Questionnaire
