Tattle's Story

Hi, I’m Tattle—a gorgeous large-patch tabby lady around 6–7 years old, with plenty of curiosity and personality to spare. I love meeting new people, watching out the window, and have a loud rumbly purr that will steal your heart.

I’m looking for a quiet home where I can be the star of the show. I don’t want to share the spotlight with other cats, though I have lived with a small, calm dog before and might be okay with the right one. Mostly, I just want a peaceful home without small children, where I can relax and be myself.

My story started when I was trapped, spayed, and supposed to be returned outside as a kitten. But I had other plans. I kept trying to get back into houses because I knew I was meant to be an indoor cat. Eventually, I was brought into rescue and found a home where I stayed for six years.

Unfortunately, things changed when two small children were added to the home. They may not always have been very kind to me, and there was also a man in the home who wasn’t much of a fan of mine. Once I feel safe, though, I warm up beautifully. I am friendly and chatty, and love to give headbutts.

Since coming into foster care, I’ve had the chance to decompress, and my confidence and true personality have come shining back. I’m playful, smart, and very interested in whatever you’re doing. I enjoy attention—but on my terms. I like people who understand that sometimes I want head scratches and company, and sometimes I just want to supervise from nearby.

I’m looking for a cat-savvy person who appreciates an affectionate and chatty companion. If you’re patient and willing to let me settle in at my own pace, I think we could be very happy together.

Tattle is currently in a foster home. If you are interested in meeting her, please send a message here, or email adopt@ahsem.org.

Adoption fees are as follows: $175 for a single cat or kitten, $225 for a pair of cats or kittens. When adopting a cat from AHSEM the adoption includes spay or neuter surgery, age appropriate core vaccines, microchipping, combo tested (for FIV/FeLV), and basic wellness care including deworming and flea treatment.

Animal House of South East Michigan, Inc.'s Adoption Policy
When adopting a cat from AHSEM the adoption includes spay or neuter surgery, age appropriate core vaccines, microchipping, combo tested (for FIV/FeLV), and basic wellness care including deworming and flea treatment. Our adoption fees are as follows: $155 for a single cat or kitten $195 for a pair of cats or kittens Please note that we do not do same day adoptions and all adoption fees are non-refundable. AHSEM treats every adoption as "foster to adopt" This means that the first two weeks in which you have the cat is the "foster period." We do our best to ensure the right match for all involved and want to give the cat(s) time to decompress and adapt to their new environment. However, we realize sometimes things don't work out as expected. Therefore, during that two-week period, if something doesn’t work out you can bring the cat back. We are also flexible if more time is needed to determine if its the right fit. We will always take our cats back even after the "foster to adopt" period. We would hate to see them end up at a kill shelter, abandoned, or any other unsafe situation.
