***Tara was best friends with Beaux when they were fending for themselves outside in a neighbourhood colony, so must have a cat friend in her forever home. Beaux is a natural choice, but Tara would be open to befriending a new buddy given time and appropriate introduction/integration.<br/><br/>Tara, Beaux and a number of other mommacats and their kittens were frequenting a tended colony until measures were put in place to nip the swelling population in the bud. Tara’s kittens Belle and Tori were lovely long-haired fluffies just like their momma; but the condition of the long hair is a hazard when living outdoors, as it often becomes a tangled mess causing constant discomfort. Now safely indoors and with a regular and quality diet, Tara’s luxuriant coat is at peak condition, and her outer beauty is finally in keeping with her inner gentleness.<br/><br/>Tara was often seen in the company of her best friend Beaux, who was the de facto community momma/auntie caring for all the kittens and juveniles in the colony. They hang out together to groom each other and the kittens, and if possible, would really like to stay together in their new home.<br/><br/>Although Tara is very shy, typical of a cat who learned to be wary of humans from a you g age, she does respond to treats and will approach for them eventually as she settles down. Greenies are the fave treats, but likely any crunchy treats would be welcomed. With treats in hand, Tara will sit close by and can be petted gently. When she is completely relaxed, she likes to knead many biscuits while purring soothingly in soft contentment. <br/><br/>Tara is estimated to be a young cat less than 3 years old, but she likely had many litters while outside. This continuous cycle of birthing can mess with a cat’s digestive tracts, and with a sensitive tummy, Tara is on a kibble diet that helps to forestall GI upsets. Food formulated for sensitive stomachs and skin and coat conditioning may be a good diet for this shy beauty.<br/><br/>This sweet momma may take a while to really accept that she is safe and loved, but as her fosters have experienced, Tara will come around eventually and settle into a routine suitable for her reserved, shy temperament. With Beaux securely by her side, Tara is taking small but encouraging steps toward integrating herself into a space that is no longer fraught with dangers and deprivation. <br/><br/>A quiet, calm household with an abundance of patience and allowance for her to slowly make it her own, is what Tara is hoping to find.
