Taboo's Story

Meet Taboo! This playful black cat, like the game she’s named after, is full of surprises! Estimated to be born around January 18th, 2023, Taboo is a young adult Domestic Shorthair with a strong personality.

Taboo’s Purrsonality:

Taboo is a kitty who has been through a lot in her short life. She was dumped on a back road in the middle of winter along with her pregnant companion, MouseTrap (MouseTrap and babies have all gone home). She was then taken into a home where she was frightened by the family puppy. Before any of this, her vocal cords were somehow damaged, preventing her from being able to meow or purr properly. Due to all of the emotional and physical trauma, Taboo has taken some time to trust people again. She first trusted men, namely my husband. Over time, she has come to love and trust me as well. She will most likely take a little time to adjust to a new home, but the patience will be worth it! She loves to be brushed and pet. Ear scritches are most appreciated! Taboo doesn’t mind being held for short periods and will nuzzle your neck and give wet kisses If she has had enough, she will walk away or give you a small love nip to let you know she is done for now. She likes to play with toy mice and toy birds, but shies away from string toys as they frighten her. Taboo would do best in a quiet adults only home and should be the only pet in the home, although she may be ok with a small dog who will ignore her completely.

BASICS
•DOB: estimated January 2023
•Age at intake: approx 1 yr, stray
•Health: Spayed, microchipped, and given age-appropriate vaccines
•Coat: Black with scattered white hairs. The Feline Connection's Adoption Policy
The Feline Connection champions for cats who need homes and we are committed to finding each cat a safe and healthy permanent home. We work to find the best possible home matches for each of our stray, homelss or friendly colony cats based on their unique needs, and the needs of the adopter. We do not have a shelter location, so all of our animals are fostered with families in Rutland County, Vermont, mostly near Rutland. This gives us a unique capability to observe and interact with each cat in a relaxed home environment. Our conversation based adoption process starts with submitting an application followed by a conversation, vet and landlord check (if needed), and then cats visits and home visits as needed for the perfect match. Pictures of the cat’s new home are always welcome. Visit us at http://www.thefelineconnection.org/ for more details
