Tabitha's Story

Tabitha (Mom) is a 3-4 year-old cat weighing 6.4 lbs.

One afternoon, I (her foster) went outside to take out the trash when I had a brief moment of panic. I thought I saw a kittens head peeking out of a car rim. I double-checked, and there were three other kittens all snuggled up in a pile of dead leaves. I didn't see the mother cat, so I brought them some wet food and a carrier to bring them inside. Soon after, the mother cat arrived, and I put them all in the carrier. One kitten was particularly stubborn and refused to come out. It took me about an hour or two to finally coax him out. I'm so grateful I saw them that day. The weather forecast predicted freezing temperatures that night, and I'm glad I rescued them before the weather worsened.

Fostering them over the past few weeks has made me fall in love with them! They're all incredibly friendly and love to play. You will probably see them zooming around, chasing each other. If they're not playing, theyre likely sleeping or playing inside their tunnel. Tabitha, on the other hand, likes to hide out and sleep most of the time, doing her own thing. They all enjoy the catnip-scented mini pillows from Specks and love playing with pom-pom balls. I like to call them ankle biters because theyll randomly start attacking your feet and ankles, especially Ted.

Tabitha is very protective but also sweet and a bit clingy at times. The kittens get along well with kids and other friendly cats, except for Tabitha. She is independent and prefers her own space.

Tabitha and her babies will be at Speck's on Bluff Road waiting to meet their new families.

Adoption fee is $100. All of our cats are spayed/neutered, microchipped, given age-appropriate vaccines, dewormed and kept up to date on flea prevention.

If youre interested in adopting, please apply here: https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/CMR/Cats
