Sylvia's Story
Are you looking for a gentle cat to be best friends with your cat?

Introducing Sylvia! Sylvia is a sweet 2 year old who was rescued off the streets of Brooklyn this summer. Unfortunately, Sylvia came from a hoarding situation where she and a number of cats were unexpectedly put outside. Sylvia didn't know how to survive outside, but we also suspect she was not shown much kindness from humans even when she lived indoors.

What this means is Sylvia can be shy around new people. But she is never shy around cats. Sylvia loooooves other cats and her sweet, silly spirit truly comes out when she is with her friends. This girl befriends every cat she meets. The resident cat in her foster home was desperate for a friend and Sylvia stepped right up. She follows the resident cat and her humans around the house, tail twines with her cat bestie at dinner time, and is always up to play with toys together. The two are never far apart.

Sylvia would do best in a home with another friendly cat who is in need of a playmate.

Sylvia's fosters are currently working to get her comfortable with being pet but we don't think this should stop her from finding her forever home. The rescue is happy to coach adopters or foster-to-adopters in the socialization process that helps turn shy pets into little love bugs. Patience and willingness to spend 20 minutes a day working with her is all that's required. We've seen this process turn the shyest cats into friendly, confident loves and know that future awaits Sylvia too.

Sylvia is estimated to be 2 years old, is spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, and negative for FIV/FeLV.

To apply to adopt or foster-to-adopt Sylvia, fill out our application here: https://forms.gle/XD8UF62dyg5uwkCx7
