Sylvester's Story
Hi, I'm Sylvester! If you're looking for a big, snuggly cat…I'm your guy! When my foster mom picks me up, I rub my head affectionately into her chin and purr and purr.

I've been in foster care since March 2013 because I took a long time to come out of my shell. I was rescued from the animal control facility before the Share the Care program and would have been euthanized if not for MAPS volunteers. They saw me scared and dirty in my cage, but knew that behind my terrified eyes I was really a sweet, handsome boy. They were right!

I spend my days in foster care playing father figure to the many kittens that pass through. The scared new kittens always flock to me! I radiate peace and security…apparently!

I am lazy, loveable, and a very big boy. I am content to laze around all day. Every once in a while I will get just enough ambition to lift my paw and bat at a toy, but mostly I'm content to be a lap warmer.

I love my foster home, but would really love a family of my own. It might take me a while to get used to you, but I promise that the wait will be worth it.

Keep in mind that I might always be a bit skittish. I absolutely cannot go outside, or I will never be caught. I also cannot be declawed (but I never scratch anyway, so no worries there).

I have been FeLuk/FIV tested negative, treated with Revolution, microchipped, vaccinated against rabies and distemper combo and neutered at Wildwood Animal Hospital.

The adoption fee for me is $75. I must be an indoor-only cat.

For more information about me, call 715-486-5140.
Thanks for reading about me!

We are a volunteer based organization. All our pets are in foster homes because we do not have a facility yet. Our pets (if old enough) have had a vet exam, basic vaccinations (distemper & rabies) and spayed or neutered. We test our cats for FeLeuk/FIV.

Please complete our online APPLICATION at http://www.marshfieldpetshelter.org/adoption-application. Prior to filling out an application, please make sure you have seriously considered adoption and have talked it over with all family members. Our approval process takes about a week. Please only apply if you are ready to adopt at this time, as we do not hold pets. All applicants must go through the application process prior to meeting the pet.
