Sydney's Story

Sydney Spice: ~3 year old spayed female, $150

Meet Sydney — formerly known as Sydney Spice, and for good reason.

When Sydney first arrived at CKC, shelter life was not her thing. She made her feelings known with the kind of enthusiasm that earned her the nickname "Sydney Spice." The world felt overwhelming, and Sydney's preferred method of setting boundaries was a little... dramatic. Fortunately, after months of patience, trust-building, and learning that not every disagreement requires a boxing match, Sydney has blossomed into a loving, affectionate companion.

These days, Sydney's favorite hobbies include face grooming, cuddling up beside her people, and making absolutely sure she knows what everyone in the house is doing at all times. Closed doors are simply unacceptable. What if something interesting is happening on the other side? Sydney believes full household supervision is a reasonable expectation.

Sydney is still a sensitive girl who can become overwhelmed in new situations. She may hesitate for a moment when something startles her, but she's quick to remember that love is worth coming back for. Because of her history, she'll need an experienced cat person who understands feline body language and is willing to give her time to settle into a new home. The "Spice" portion of her personality may make a brief reappearance while she adjusts, but with patience and understanding, Sydney will show her true sweet nature.

Sydney is looking for a home where she can be the only cat, with plenty of room to roam and explore. She's a social cat who forms strong bonds with her people and does best with someone who can spend lots of time with her. If left alone too often, she'll let you know exactly how she feels about it, and loudly.

For the right person, Sydney is an incredibly rewarding companion: loyal, affectionate, entertaining, and full of personality. She's worked hard to learn that the world can be a safe place. Now she's looking for someone willing to give her the forever home she deserves.

Apply at cokittycoalition.com to meet her in Fort Collins.
