Sweetie's Story

Sweetie came to us when her owner could no longer live independently. She was very thin and her coat poorly kept, but as time has passed, her fluff has become shiny and her belly nice and full again.

Sweetie is about 11 years old and seeking a home with cozy blankets and a calm place to sleep. She is easily content; all she wants is some company and gentle petting. Sweetie shares her purr with anyone who sits by her, and she lives up to her name every day.

She lived with another cat, but would be just as happy in a home as the only kitty. If you would like to pay Sweetie a visit and see her fuzzy ears in person, come by soon.

Stop by to fill out an adoption application and spend as much time as you like with our cats. We do not adopt first come; we always select the best placement for our animals. Please call your veterinarian to permit them to speak with us for our vet check. If you rent, bring proof (lease/contract) that you are allowed to have a cat.

Our adoption fee is $50 for cats. This includes FIV/FeLV testing, flea/tick preventatives, deworming, age-appropriate vaccines, and spay/neuter if six months or older. If they are too young, we require a $50 deposit that will be refunded upon proof that the pet has been altered.

For more info on our shelter and available pets, check us out online:

West Milford Animal Shelter Society
Lycosky Drive, West Milford, NJ 07480
(973) 728-2859

Visiting Hours
Mon - Fri: 10 - 1
Wed Night: 7:30 - 9
Weekends: 10 - 3
