Hi there, I'm Sweet Pea, and I definitely live up to my name! I have a very special way of getting people's attention. First, I'll make you some biscuits, then I'll dramatically flop over, and once I'm settled, I'll continue making biscuits in the air because apparently regular biscuits just aren't enough. I'm a funny, silly, goofy girl who knows how to keep things entertaining, and I absolutely love being the center of attention. If you're looking for a sweet companion with plenty of personality and a few adorable quirks, I think we're going to get along wonderfully! Sweet Pea has tested positive for FIV. FIV may cause a weakened immune system, but FIV+ cats are frequently asymptomatic for the duration of their life. This also has no effect on their lifespan, and they are able to live safely with other cats. Elmbrook Humane Society's Adoption Policy

If you would like to adopt an animal in our care, the first step is to complete our adoption application. Applications can be filled out online or in person and are reviewed same-day (as long as they are received during business hours). We are open for viewing from 1-6pm every day*. While there is no appointment needed to walk through the shelter and view all of the animals, appointments will be required to meet and/or adopt. Appointments can be made same-day when available or scheduled up to a week in advance with an approved application. Operating by appointment allows us to provide the best possible care for the animals and service to you. We encourage all family members in the household to meet the adoptable animal prior to adoption (this may be required for certain animals). If you are adopting a dog and have another dog in your household, we encourage you bring in your dog to meet their potential new companion (this may be required for certain dogs). *The shelter is closed on holidays and the last day of every month. **Beginning in 2026, the shelter will be closed on the last Tuesday of every month.
