That was the reality for Kisses and five of her siblings.<br/><br/>When we first met Kisses, she was sitting in her kennel facing the back wall. She wouldn't move or look at anyone. She was depressed and exhausted. Heartbroken, she stopped eating and lost two pounds in the shelter. Her spirit was breaking.<br/><br/>We brought her home. The moment she stepped through the door, the weight of the world lifted off her shoulders. She immediately relaxed and walked right up to her foster human for sweet pets. By day two, she was letting us pick her up and comb her without a single worry. Its amazing what love, safety, and a quiet home can do for a senior heart. Kisses didn't lose her gentle soul—she just needed someone to show her that she matters. It was as if a quiet understanding washed over her—she knew, deep down, that everything was going to be okay. She could finally just rest and heal.<br/><br/>Kisses has become the ultimate "Velcro kitty"—wherever you go, her little paws are sure to follow. She is a true lap cat. If it were up to her, she'd spend every moment of the day in your arms taking cuddles. With a heart overflowing with affection, Kisses genuinely prefers the company of her humans over other cats, wanting nothing more than to be right by your side.<br/><br/>Kisses is a senior so she's not overly active, she plays in a couple short bouts during the day. Kisses is all about connection—she doesn't care much for self-play because, for her, the fun is all in playing with you. She loves to be perched up high. When you extend your hand she lowers her head and starts rubbing her scent on you. She' s not shy about letting you know what she wants—she's wonderfully vocal when its mealtime or when she's craving quality time. One of her favorite things is being picked up and carried around; the moment you scoop her into your arms, her tail starts wagging non-stop like a happy little helicopter!<br/><br/>Kisses does not like being close to the house door when you open it, so expect her to scoot away. She will need a human to keep an eye on her dental health, as she has gingivitis. Kisses is still sensitive about her paws. Grooming wasn't something her previous owners ever did, so having her paws touched is a whole new experience for her. Were taking things slow, honoring her comfort, and letting her learn at her own gentle pace.<br/><br/>Kisses has lived with several cats at a time. We don't know how she is with children or dogs. She has had a checkup and is up to date on her vaccines. She is negative for FIV/FeLV.<br/><br/>Kisses is seeking a heart and home that match her quiet, affectionate soul. She would do exceptionally well with a fellow senior—a beautiful "senior for a senior" pairing—or with someone who works from home, stays in often, and has tons of time and love to give. Since Kisses lives for cuddles and human attention, she's at her happiest simply sharing space with you.
