Swan 's Story
Meet Swan – A Gentle Soul Looking for a Quiet, Understanding Home

Swan is a truly beautiful girl, both inside and out. With her striking face and unique markings, she often captures attention quietly—never demanding it, just observing the world around her.

Swan is shy and sensitive and will thrive with a very patient, calm, and cat-savvy adopter who understands that trust takes time. She prefers slow movements and space, especially around food time. In the past, she would allow a person nearby briefly while eating if approached very gently, but after a recent setback she needs to rebuild that confidence again.

Swan tends to hide during the day and comes out more at night, often settling near a window where she feels safe. She enjoys the presence of other cats and generally coexists peacefully, though she has had occasional disagreements with one particular cat (Sophia). All other cats seem to accept her just fine.

An interesting note—Swan arrived with Olaf, sitting right next to her trap, and based on her age, it’s possible she may be his mom.

Recently, Swan experienced a stressful regression after becoming lost for several days inside the home. During that time, she hid and would only eat when food was placed very close to her. Since then, she has slowly made progress again—she has come upstairs and has chosen the bedroom as her safe space. While she still isn’t ready for touch and runs from adults and children, this is a positive step forward and gives us a renewed opportunity to work gently with her.

Important things to know about Swan:
• Shy, quiet, and easily startled
• Not aggressive—she has never swiped or shown aggression
• Needs a calm, low-traffic home
• Best suited for an adult-only household or one with very respectful, quiet teens
• Will require time, consistency, and compassion to continue building trust

Swan may never be a lap cat—but for the right person, watching her feel safe, choose comfort, and slowly blossom will be incredibly rewarding. She deserves a home that sees her not for what she isn’t yet, but for who she already is: a gentle, beautiful soul doing her best.

If you believe love, patience, and quiet companionship matter more than instant affection, Swan may be your perfect match.
