Susuwatari's Story

Hello, I'm excited to meet you!! My given name is Susuwatari, but I answer mostly to Susu, Susi (soo-see), or Suzi. I was named for my resemblance to a Ghibli soot-sprite. I am a very sweet, lovable little gal who is looking for a forever home that can give me lots of love, play time, and attention.

I am still young, somewhere between 8-12mos old, with black, medium-length hair and big, bright, yellow eyes. I was found outside an apartment complex in Manhattan late one cold, January night, and my foster dads were certain I had escaped from home because of how friendly I was. However, I haven't been claimed by anyone yet, so maybe my home is meant to be with you?

I love tuna flavored foods, wet treats, playing in my tunnel, and chasing my feather and snake toys. I like to jump and flip, so I need a play area with some space! I'm very good at gentle play with little to no claws engaged and I listen very well if I get carried away.

I love affection and could be pet for hours. I purr a lot, make tons of biscuits, and might try to grab your leg if you walk away too soon. If I trust you, I also love belly rubs and snuggling up at your feet at bedtime.

I used to live on the streets, so i can be a little jumpy if you are too fast or loud. I prefer a calm environment. Please approach me slowly and give me a couple minutes to warm up to you. If kiddos are in the home, I would do better with older ones.

I love people, but right now I am scared of and defensive towards other cats, so I would do best going to a home that doesn't currently have any other pets. That way I can adjust to and establish my new space before trying to introduce a little sibling.

I am litter trained, vaccinated, spayed, and have all my claws, so I need plenty of places where I am allowed to scratch. I love cardboard scratchers!

My foster dads would love to keep me if they could, but they believe there is a better fit waiting for a kitten just like me.
