Susie Q is extremely shy in new environments and needs a calm, predictable household where she can settle in at her own pace. She is looking for a family that understands the virtue of time and patience, as she will need an extra dose of both to help her build confidence, trust, and the comfort she needs to finally come out of her shell. Though she is timid at first, Susie Q very much enjoys receiving gentle pets once she knows she is safe. Because she needs a peaceful environment, she would do best in a home with no young children; however, respectful kids over the age of 12 who understand how to give her space and let her come to them on her own terms would be a great fit. When it comes to other animals, Susie Q has been tolerant of other cats in her room at the shelter, but she would also be fantastic as your one-and-only spoiled kitty. A cat-friendly dog may also be okay, provided they are low-key and willing to give her plenty of personal space.
