Suomi's Story

Suomi, pronounced "sue-me" is the Finnish word for Finland. Does he speak Finnish or is he from Finland?? You'll have to adopt him to find out!

This reserved guy has made huge improvements in his foster home & has decided that being feral is in the past. He will still need someone who will take their time & give him space to decompress. When he becomes more comfortable, instead of hiding in the back of his cat tree he will follow you around for pets & wait at the door for you to come home! He loves soft pets under his chin, behind his ears & down his back, maybe even a little scratch at the base of his tail! He is clear with his boundaries & will either back up or mildly hiss to show he's uncomfortable- but when you gain his trust he rewards you with a soft quiet purr!

Suomi enjoys being your shadow, eating wet food, smacking around stuffed mice & cuddling with his foster brother, Malachi. Churu treats are his favorite & would be a great way to become his buddy. He is truly a cat's cat & would do best being adopted with his foster friend, Malachi, or with another friendly cat that loves to play fight & cuddle. Young children would most likely scare him but could possibly be okay with a calm dog that mostly leaves him alone after slow, proper introductions.

Suomi is estimated to be at least 3.5 years old. He is neutered, flea treated, dewormed, microchipped, vaccinated, and has tested negative for FIV/FeLV. Do you have the time/patience (and enough love in your heart) to take on a project kitty (and his BFF?). Consider Suomi (and Malachi?) today!

Trash Cat Rescue's Adoption Policy
Typically the potential adopter reaches out either with or without a specific cat in mind. We will usually ask questions about the type of cat the adopter is interested in (any preferences as far as gender, color, personality, etc.), as well as the sort of home the cat would be going to (any kids, other pets, etc.). If we have a cat or kitten who would be a good fit, the adopter can fill out our application for that animal. If not, the person can still fill out the app, and we will keep them if mind if we end up with a cat who we think would be a good fit. Once the app is reviewed/approved (including checking vet and landlord references), we would chat any further with the adopter if needed, and then schedule a meet and greet with them with the cat or kitten. If the animal and the adopter hit it off, the adopter would then fill out our adoption agreement, pay the adoption fee, and take the cat or kitten home!
