Sunshine SAFE's Story
Meet Sunshine! Sunshine is a beautiful black and white tuxedo cat with a black moustache (don't tell her we said that!). Sunshine was named because when she came to her family as a kitten, she LOVED the sunshine and you could always find her laying in the sun. Sunshine is 8 years young and has been through a lot. Sunshine has come from a domestic violence situation. There was a lot of big feelings, loud voices and noises, and at times she was thrown, kicked, and worse. The very gut-wrenching and emotional decision was made to give her up for both her safety and the safety of her family who needed to quickly escape their volatile situation. (They are now safe.)

Despite Sunshine needing to be left behind and losing her family she has kown since a kitten, Sunshine is a calm, fairly easy-going girl who loves attention and affection, when not with other cats. She seemed very grateful to come to us. Most cats when they first arrive into foster care after being with their family for a long time stop eating. This is part of the grieving process; however Sunshine seems happy for the calm and was loving and friendly from the beginning and ate heartily. Sadly, for a cat who is used to be the only cat, living in a foster home with other cats is not ideal, and Sunshine is struggling to find solitude. We are hoping that she finds her very own loving home again soon.

Sunshine does not get along with other cats and would like to be an only cat; she really enjoys her alone time. We are guessing she gets along with dogs, as she had a dog in her previous home. She loves to headbutt you (a hug in cat language) and will purr when you pet her head. She enjoys her canned food in the evening and enjoys peacefully sitting on the climber and looking out the window. She is all about calm. Can you blame her after all she has been through?

Sunshine is spayed, up-to-date on her distemper and rabies vaccines, combo tested negative, and is microchipped with a lifetime registration. Please consider adding a little Sunshine to both your life and hers. If you are unable to adopt her, please share with someone who might. Thank you. We are trying to get her into a stress-free home as soon as possible. You can fill out an application here: https://www.jotform.com/form/221029453063044
