Summer's Story

Meet SUMMER SNUGGLES, available for Adoption through FUR Animal Rescue!
RESCUE DATE: May 15

Summer Snuggles is 6 years old, and her story is one of love, loss, resilience, and hope.
For six years, Summer had a family. Thankfully, Summer's veterinarian believed there had to be another way.
They reached out to FUR Animal Rescue and asked if we would give her a chance.
Without hesitation, we said yes.

Since arriving at the FURcility, Summer has made tremendous progress. She has never been a social butterfly, and that's okay. Summer is an introvert at heart. She takes her time. She watches before she participates. She thinks before she trusts.
But little by little, she has allowed us in.

We've watched her become comfortable. We've watched her learn routines. We've watched her begin to trust again. We've watched glimpses of the cat she was before her entire world was turned upside down.
The truth is, Summer is still carrying a bit of a broken heart. Not because she isn't loved here, but because what she really needs now is a home.
Some cats need the FURcility for months or even years while they heal and learn how to be cats again. Summer needed us, and it has been our privilege to help her. But we truly believe she is ready for the next chapter.

She is ready for a quiet couch, familiar surroundings, gentle companionship, and a family of her own. She is ready to stop living in transition and start living her life again.
And honestly, Summer is a pretty simple girl.

Summer isn't overly playful. She isn't wild or energetic. She isn't looking to be the center of attention. Summer is incredibly chill. She loves affection, enjoys laying next to her people, and finds comfort in simply being near those she trusts. Her favorite things are the simple things in life: a cozy place to nap, a big window to watch the world go by, and a home where she feels safe and secure.

Summer is okay with other cats, but she is easily intimidated by them and tends to keep to herself. While she can coexist peacefully with feline companions, we believe she would thrive most as the only cat in a calm, quiet home. She isn't looking for excitement, constant activity, or a house full of commotion. After everything she has been through, she deserves a peaceful place where she can finally relax, heal her heart, and simply be herself.

We know Summer will adjust fairly quickly in the right home. After all she's been through, she's ready to get back to life as she knows it. She's ready for a routine. She's ready for companionship. She's ready for sunny windows, afternoon naps, and a family to call her own.

Summer's story could have ended very differently.
Instead, she was given a second chance.
Now she's looking for someone to share it with.

If you have a quiet home, a warm lap, and room in your heart for a sweet, easygoing companion, Summer Snuggles may be exactly who you've been waiting for.
She has survived the hardest chapter of her life.
We think it's finally time for her happily ever after.

EXTRAS:
Fine with kids
Scared other cats
Never been around
Litter trained
I eat Purina ONE Salmon

REQUIREMENTS:
Stable living environment (home ownership or lengthy rental history with landlord approval)
Indoor home preferred
A cat tree is a MUST for maximum happiness!
We highly recommend Water Fountains for all cats (trust us, they'll thank you!)

STATS:
Domestic Shorthair (Grey tabby)
6 years old
Spayed Female
Vaccinated FVRCP & Rabies
On Flea/Tick/Heartworm Prevention
Tested Negative for FIV/Felv
Fecal and dewormed
Ear Mite Free
Micro Chipped
Urinalysis
Treated for a double ear infection

READY TO APPLY?
MESSAGE OUR PAGE or text 308-520-5528 for our simple adoption app!
An approved adoption application is required before a meet and greet.
We offer a 30 Day Health Guarantee, lifetime behavioral support, and invite you to join our FUR Family!
Adoption Fee: $200 (this is less than half of what we spent to Rescue her)
Location:* North Platte, NE (non-local adoptions possible)
