Meet Sully!<br/><br/>Sully is a 13-week-old kitten with the biggest personality packed into a tiny body. He is playful, curious, and absolutely loves people. If you're looking for a kitten who wants to be part of everything you're doing, Sully is your guy. He is always ready to play, explore, and then curl up for some attention.<br/><br/>Sully recently tested positive for feline leukemia virus (FeLV), but because he is so young, there is a chance this result is due to maternal antibodies from his mother. Some kittens who test positive at this age will test negative when they are retested a few months later. We simply won't know until he is old enough for follow-up testing.<br/><br/>While we wait, we would love for Sully to spend his kittenhood in a home instead of growing up in a kennel. He has so much love to give and deserves the chance to enjoy being a kitten.<br/><br/>What does adopting an FeLV-positive kitten mean? FeLV is a virus that affects only cats—it cannot be passed to people, dogs, or other animals. FeLV-positive cats should either be the only cat in the home or live with other FeLV-positive cats to prevent spreading the virus to FeLV-negative cats.<br/><br/>There is no way to predict how long an individual FeLV-positive cat will live. While the virus can shorten life expectancy for some cats, others remain healthy for many years with good nutrition, routine veterinary care, and an indoor lifestyle. Some FeLV-positive cats live well into their teens. Every cat is different, and Sully deserves the chance to be loved for however many years he has, whether that ends up being a few or many.<br/><br/>If Sully's future testing comes back negative, he'll simply continue life as any other healthy kitten. If he remains positive, he'll still be the same sweet, affectionate, playful little boy who is ready to be someone's best friend.<br/><br/>Sully is available to meet at our Millington, TN Rescue Center between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. We would love for you to come meet this special little guy and see just how easy it is to fall in love with him.
