Suki's Story

Sukie's a sweet, quiet beauty who's super-responsive to people, sounds and her surroundings. Once she trusts you, she's your shadow and a constant companion, near you but not ON you. She'll melt into the background wherever you go; but if you turn around, you'll see that she's right there with you. Sukie's decidedly not a cuddly lap cat. She's gentle and compliant about being carried or snuggled, but she turns into a squirmy bundle to let you know her preference to be free. She rewards respectful affection with loads of love and attention. Her foster home reports that she gets along well with other cats, but is bold about stealing their food. Her appetite is infinite, so her adopter will have to keep close watch on Sukie's calories or she'll quickly become a blimp. Sukie's front paws are polydactyl: she has furry thumbs! They add to her fabulous look, but they need periodic attention & nail clipping to avoid risking ingrown claws. Apart from this, Sukie is quite a low-maintenance, high-rewards companion. Here's a few tips to help you get comfortable with the adoption process: We will ask you some questions about your home and family as well as what you're looking for in a cat, i.e. an active cat, a calm companion cat and so on-- to ensure that we find the best possible match for you & your lifestyle. We strive to find the best mutual fit, between adopter and cat, so that the homes that our amazing cats find are in fact their forever homes. We want everyone involved to be happy and feel like it was their perfect match. Click “see our pets” to see all of our adoptable cats that are currently ready for adoption. If you see someone you’re interested in, you can learn more about them and meet them in person at our Open Hours at the shelter on Monday evenings from 6:30PM-7:30PM and Saturday afternoons from 2:00PM-3:00 PM.
