Meet Suki!<br/><br/>Senior lady Suki is looking for a kindred spirit who will appreciate her independent nature and discerning taste. She likes attention and petting from her familiar people, but prefers strangers to keep their distance. For all except her favorite people in her inner circle, she thinks the phrase "pet me with your eyes" is fitting.<br/><br/>Suki came into our care when her previous home was no longer a good fit for her preferences and needs. In a new home she would prefer there to be peace and quiet, with safe and cozy spots for lying in sunbeams and watching out the window without unwanted interruptions. When she's calm and comfortable, she will certainly enjoy petting and affection. She may not be the most easy-going cat you've ever met, but there's something to be said for having opinions and sticking to them!<br/><br/>In her senior years she's moving around more slowly and will appreciate all the little things you can do to help her move around comfortably, such as pet steps, non-slip surfaces, and a low-sided litter box. She will also love some daily playtime to help keep her mind sharp and encourage some healthy movement and weight loss. If possible, she would likely enjoy enclosed outside areas such as a secure screened in porch or a catio. She's not as young and as agile as she once was, so her free-roaming outside days are likely behind her.<br/><br/>Cats: Suki has never lived with other cats, but has displayed stress behaviors toward other unfamiliar cats in the shelter. Suki is looking for a home without other cats.<br/>Dogs: Suki has previously lived with a dog and may do well with a respectful, cat-savvy dog in an adoptive home.<br/>Children: Suki has previously displayed stress behaviors related to living with children.
