Stout's Story

Meet Stout, the perfect house-panther who is here to steal your heart! He's just been neutered and is ready to find his forever home.

Stout is the sweetest boy who never gets tired of attention. He throws himself out in front of you with a thud to ask for pets and attention. Whenever you call him, he'll run to you. He also loves to be brushed so if he sees you holding a brush he'll immediately rub his face against it. This boy really likes spending time with his people so will do best in a home where someone is around for much of the day (perhaps a person who works from home.)

Stout is also very playful. You'll often see him hopping like a bunny chasing toys around or tossing his catnip toys up into the air. When Stout gets playing, like any youngster he sometimes likes to rough house by bunny kicking your arm or grabbing your hand in his mouth. Therefore, he wont be the best fit for a home with children. Although he's playful, he's not really a high-energy cat. he enjoys cuddling and will share his loud purr with you.

Stout doesn't like to share his people with other pets so would prefer to be the only cat in the home. He did come from a home with a dog, so a laid-back dog that isn't needy would likely be OK. He may be jealous of a lap-dog or one that needs lots of attention from his family. Stout will do well as an only cat in a household where he can take in all the love by himself.

Although Stout rarely talks, he'll give you a little cute meow when he's hungry and knows that it's time for food. He doesn't always sleep on your lap but he'll sleep right next you and makes sure a part of his body is touching you.

This guy is not even 2 years old so have a lot of time and love to give to his new family. He is a wonderful cat who will be a great addition to his new home. Victoria Pet Adoption Society's Adoption Policy
Adopting a pet is a lifetime commitment and a big responsibility. Dogs can live 15 years or more, and cats can live 20+ years. Like people, each individual pet comes with its own set of baggage, needs, and personality traits. Because your new pet will depend on you to provide its basic needs, we need to be sure that you are educated and up to the challenge. Our adoption process allows us to ask you some questions about your home environment, your lifestyle, and your needs, expectations, and limitations. We want to be sure that your new pet is going to be just as happy in its new home as you are to have it there. A Successful Adoption Process Includes the Following Steps: To start the adoption process, please complete the online adoption application found at https://victoriapets.ca/adoption-process/. If our adoption team feels as though your home will be a great fit for one of our pets they will contact you to set up a visit supervised by the foster parent who can answer some of the questions you may have about the animal of interest. You will not be able to take the pet home the day of the visit. One of our volunteers will contact you after the visit and will open a dialogue with you based on the information provided in your application. We will talk about your home and family, as well as your experience with pets. We will ask you to tell us about the kind of life and care you can offer to the adopted pet, and we will inform you about any health or behavioural issues that you should be aware of. (For dogs only) Once an adoption is pending, we will come visit your home to ensure that the environment is suitable for the pet in question, based on its needs. We can advise you of modifications that could make the adoption more successful, such as fencing and other things you may not have thought about. The adoption process generally takes several days, and this time line is intentional. It allows you time to think about your decision so that you can be sure that you are comfortable with the decision that you’ve made. Adoptions are never approved within 48 hours of the application being submitted. Once we have successfully journeyed through the steps above, you can pick up your new friend to begin a wonderful life together! Signing an adoption contract is a requirement for every pet that is adopted. Adoption Fees are as Follows: Kittens (up to 12 months of age) $400 Adult Cats (1 yr - 8yrs) $300 Senior Cats (9 yrs and older) $250 Special Needs Cats (other than kittens) $250 Puppies (up to 12 months of age) $600 Adult Dogs (1 yr - 8yrs) $400 Senior Dogs (9 yrs and older) $300 Special Needs dogs (other than puppies) $300 Rabbits $50 Guinea Pigs $30 Rats/hamsters $20 Mice $10 Adoption fees for other species may vary
